The Pole of Inaccessibility Research Station is an Antarctic research base established in 1958 by Soviet scientists. It is located at the Southern Pole of Inaccessibility, the point in Antartica furthest from any ocean. The station consists of a small hut, a plane landing strip, and various electronic signaling devices. On top of the hut is erected a bust of Vladimir Lenin, facing Moscow. As of today, the entirety of the station, save for the bust, is covered in snow.
